About the Role

We are seeking a Security Engineer to strengthen our security posture across our Azure-based infrastructure and ensure continued compliance with ISO 27001. This role combines technical depth with governance and operational responsibilities, supporting secure architecture design, threat monitoring, incident response, and employee awareness initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Security Architecture

· Design and review secure architectures for Azure services, networking, identity, and application deployments.

· Implement best practices for Azure security controls (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, RBAC, Conditional Access).

· Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to embed security in solution design.

2. Threat Monitoring & Engineering

· Configure and maintain security tools (Microsoft Defender suite, Sentinel SIEM, vulnerability scanners).

· Monitor alerts and logs for suspicious activity; perform threat analysis and triage.

· Automate detection and response workflows using Azure Logic Apps and Sentinel playbooks.

3. Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)

· Maintain and update security policies and procedures aligned with ISO 27001 and other relevant standards.

· Support risk assessments, internal audits, and evidence collection for certification renewals.

· Track remediation of identified risks and vulnerabilities.

4. Incident Response

· Act as first responder for security incidents; perform root cause analysis and containment.

· Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and recovery plans.

· Conduct post-incident reviews and implement lessons learned.

5. Security Awareness & Training

· Deliver security awareness sessions and phishing simulations.

· Create engaging content to educate employees on secure practices and compliance requirements.

· Promote a culture of security across all teams.

Required Qualifications

· Master’s degree in IT Security.

· Strong knowledge of Azure security services (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, Azure AD).

· Experience with SIEM, vulnerability management, and incident response.

· Familiarity with ISO 27001 controls and audit processes.

· Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automation.

· Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Skills.

· 3+ years in security engineering or related role.

· Certifications: AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer), or similar.

· Experience with Microsoft Purview, compliance tooling, and data protection.

· SLA compliance for incident response and remediation.

· Zero critical vulnerabilities in our combined environment.

· Positive audit outcomes and ISO 27001 certification maintenance.
